Job Title: HEAT Program Specialist, Intake
Department: Aging and Family Services; Home Energy Assistance Target (HEAT) Program
Hours: Seasonal/Temporary Positions -- Maximum length of appointment: September 27, 2018 to April 30, 2019, depending upon funding availability and program needs.
Full and Part Time Positions Available in Utah, Wasatch and Summit Counties
1. Graduation from high school and two years general business, accounting, payroll or similar training; AND
2. Two years work experience in a position requiring attention to detail, organizational skills
and interaction with the public, ability to communicate fluently in Spanish is desired, OR
3. An equivalent year-for-year combination of related education and experience.
Requirements: Must have excellent customer service and communication skills, including the ability to interact professionally with the public by phone and in person, must have experience in utilizing computer programs to complete work assignments, including Word and Excel. Must establish and maintain positive working relationships with clients and work as part of a team. Must be reliable, organized, detail oriented and able to complete work assignments independently. Must remain calm in stressful situations, ability to use good judgment and demonstrate compassion in working with low-income families and seniors. Must be able to maintain confidentiality. Applicant must have, or be able to obtain, a valid Utah Driver's License, and have a motor vehicle that will allow travel within region as needed. Successful completion of standard background check required prior to final appointment.
Job Description: Responsible to assist low income families and seniors complete a HEAT program application, and to determine eligibility for utility assistance. Reviews and verifies household information, income and income deductions and utility billings according to program guidelines. Maintains confidentiality regarding client records. Follows an appointment schedule, completes data entry, communicates with clients and utility companies, accurately submits information electronically to finalize applications for approval within allowable timeframe. Provides energy education and information about community resources. May participate in outreach events and assist in distributing informational flyers and brochures as needed. Represents Mountainland AOG and the HEAT Program at various sites in Utah, Summit and Wasatch County.
